Today is the opening day of the exhibit “Friends”, which tells the story of four college students killed in a fatal DWI accident and its devastating consequences. The exhibit will be on display through November 24 in the Gilman Lounge (Room 3-114) of the Flynn Campus Center. It is open to the MCC community and the public on Monday through Friday from 9 am until 7 pm. Reservations can be made to bring larger groups (such as classes or student groups) to the exhibit. Also, arrangements can be made for MCC groups to visit the exhibit after-hours if necessary (for example, Saturday or evening classes).
There is a public calendar available through Outlook which shows when groups are scheduled to visit the exhibit. If you are planning to bring a group, it is recommended that you check the calendar to avoid the potential for crowded conditions. The calendar can be accessed through Outlook by going to: Public Folders/All Public Folders/MCC/College Calendars/College Events/Gilman Lounge DWI Exhibit. Reservations for groups are recommended but not required.
If you have questions about the exhibit or would like to make a reservation, please contact Susan Cable at <<mailto:scable@monroec.edu>> or 262-1771.
Don't forget the film events that will kick off the “Friends” exhibit! Spin the Bottle is a film that explores how college students are influenced and affected by the alluring images of alcohol use and abuse that pervade our culture. A screening and discussion of the film will take place today from 3 till 5 pm in Monroe A at the Brighton campus, and tomorrow at the Damon Campus from 3 till 5pm in Room 4151. Refreshments will be served at both film events.
