2023 State-Wide TYESA-MCC Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) competition

Dear Students, Friends, and Colleagues,

The Engineering Science and Physics department is hosting an annual state-wide TYESA-MCC Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) competition on Friday, April 28, 2023, at MCC PAC field house. There will be six other institutions participating in this event.

Competing students have to design and build a small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) to transport an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) through a series of ground navigation obstacles and release the UAV autonomously at the release zone. The UAV must be able to maneuver around and through obstacles, change altitude to flight mission and land at the final destination. This project is designed to simulate a rescue mission where human navigation is dangerous, and aerial navigation is partially difficult.

Please come and support our MCC engineering students' ingenuity and enthusiasm.

The TYESA MCC UAV competition on April 28, 9:00am to 2:00pm schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00am to 10:00am: Team Check-In and Set Up
  • 10:00am to 11:00am: Poster Session
  • 11:00am to Noon: Lunch/test run
  • Noon to 1:30pm: UAV competition
  • 1:30pm to 2:00pm: Awards ceremony
