Today the Purchasing Department is kicking off a campaign with Staples to support the College’s sustainability efforts. If you are a user or approver in StaplesLink.com (the on-line office product order system) you will be receiving an email announcing two (2) important initiatives aimed at helping both the College and Staples with going ‘GREEN’…(just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!):
1) The first announcement introduces the ‘Sustainable Green’ Shopping list. This will be a list of products that departments across the College commonly order but identifies either the eco-friendly alternative or an alternative that is manufactured by a minority or women owned business.
2) The second announcement introduces a minimum StapleLink.com order requirement of $25.00 that will go into effect April 1, 2011. This change will help reduce the expenses associated with order processing, delivery, and will help the environment by reducing fuel costs, cardboard boxes, and the packing materials that cushion all orders. We are encouraging departments to consolidate their office product orders as so that they meet the minimum of $25.00.
Staples delivers to the College every Thursday. Please remember that approved orders for Staples must be received no later than each Tuesday at 12:00 Noon to be processed in time for the Thursday delivery.
