Guard/Evidence Technician Pat Hunt Completes Police Field Training Officer Course

Guard/Evidence Technician Pat Hunt recently completed the Police Field Training Officer Course at the Public Safety Training Facility. 

The Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility (PSTF), under the auspices of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), held a Police Field Training Officer Course at 1190 Scottsville Road, Rochester, NY. 

Instructional areas include:

  • Key elements of a successful training officer program
  • Field training program management
  • Competency expectations, evaluations, and documentation
  • Principles of adult learning
  • Teaching skills and presentation
  • Role of the field training officer
  • Override and intervention techniques
  • Remediation methodologies and strategies
  • Legal and liability issues for the FTO
