Congratulations Kate Robinson, MCC's Emerging Excellence Award Recipient

Kate Robinson, Instructional Designer, Virtual Campus, is the 2023 recipient of MCC’s Emerging Excellence Award. This award is specifically designed for newer employees who have gone above and beyond the general responsibilities of their role. Throughout Kate’s 3 years at MCC, she has consistently demonstrated dedication to Virtual Campus and MCC’s community of learners.

Kate joined the Virtual Campus Team as a Training & Support Specialist just weeks before the COVID lockdowns. During that time, Kate spent hours daily in Virtual Campus’ Zoom Drop-In Support Room, helping our MCC community transition to virtual teaching environments. Her meticulous planning and empathy made a world of difference in the lives of our faculty, ensuring that they continued to deliver high-quality education despite the challenging circumstances.

Additionally, Kate recently played an instrumental role in our institution’s LMS migration to Brightspace. This complex project demanded substantial effort from the entire Virtual Campus team and Kate rose to the occasion with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Kate is an engaged instructional designer and model employee whose commitment to education, exceptional adaptability, and exemplary contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic and LMS migration have made a profound impact on our institution. I am pleased to congratulate Kate with this award, and we look forward to many more years of service!
