Call for Participation: Planning Events for the Upcoming Solar Eclipse

The 2024 solar eclipse provides a valuable opportunity to raise awareness and ignite interest in higher education. For some, witnessing a total solar eclipse is a once-in-a-lifetime event and one of those marvelous, shared experiences with our fellow humans. By organizing a series of engaging activities, we aim to create an unforgettable experience for our college members and inspire interest in the sciences.

With this in mind, we cordially invite you to join our planning committee. We are seeking individuals who will play a crucial role in brainstorming, coordinating, and executing a wide range of activities surrounding the solar eclipse. If you have some ideas already—let's coordinate!

Here are some areas where we need input:

  1. Venue Selection: Identifying suitable locations with optimal viewing conditions for the eclipse.
  2. Program Development: Suggesting educational talks, workshops, and hands-on activities to engage the college community—all disciplines welcome!
  3. Safety and logistic considerations.

For those interested please join us on Friday, January 19th at 11:00 AM via Zoom.
