News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees took the following actions at yesterday’s meeting:

1. Accepted the interim financial reports as of March 31, 2009 and April 30, 2010.

2. Authorized the purchase of items over $10,000 for the months of March and April 2010.

3. Approved the operating budget for the fiscal year Sept. 1, 2010 through Aug. 31, 2011 in the amount of $123,780,000.*

4. Approved the schedule of tuition and fees for the fiscal year Sept. 1, 2010 through Aug. 31, 2011. (Tuition is set at $3,000 for New York state residents.)

6. Amended the college’s agreement with the Cecil Group for site selection services in the amount of $16,882.

7. Appointed Kimberley Collins as Interim Vice President of Academic Services effective May 3, 2010.

8. Approved the retirements of Joseph Kotaska, Business Administration/Economics; Arlene Phillips, Services for Students with Disabilities; David Pogue, Law and Criminal Justice; and Michael Zwick, Mathematics in accordance with Article 27 of the Faculty Association contract.


9. Approved the hiring of Skip Bailey as director of athletics.

10. Approved the benefit schedule for vice presidents and non-contract employees hired on or after June 1, 2010.

11. Passed a resolution honoring student trustee Devon N. Woodward.

12. Passed a resolution honoring the women’s lacrosse team, winners of the 2010 NJCAA national championship.

13. Conducted an executive session pursuant to Public Officers Law section 105, subsections c, d, e, f, and h.

The Board also heard a presentation regarding current enrollment trends and suggestions for the future by Associate Vice President of Academic Services and Enrollment Management Anthony Felicetti.

*The MCC 2010-2011 operating budget goes before the Monroe County Legislature for consideration later this summer.
