The Liberal Arts and Sciences degree (LA04) provides flexibility to tailor coursework for a smooth transfer. The goal is to obtain your A.S. degree while taking SUNY General Education and foundation courses for your major at the 4-year degree institution. St. John Fisher University (SJF) waives their local general education course requirements for students transferring with an Associate degree.

Directions:

1. Choose your SJF major from the list below.

2.
Use your MCC Degree Works worksheet and the major courses listed on the SJF MCC Liberal Arts Advising Guide for Transfer Students to choose courses to take at MCC. Take as many of the courses outlined for your specific major as you are able (as well as the SUNY Gen Ed courses needed for the MCC degree). Depending on your intended major, you may be able to take additional electives of your choice to obtain the minimum needed 60 credits to graduate. Make sure to consult with an MCC advisor prior to course registration.

Prospective students, see the
MCC Liberal Arts and Sciences - General Studies A.S. degree outline under Program Details.

3. Carefully read the SJF specific notes at the bottom of this page; contact your MCC advisor or SJF if you have questions.

4. Meet with
SJF Transfer Admission staff to plan your transfer. Apply to SJF the semester before you complete your degree at MCC.

If you are interested in a major that is not listed on any of the 2+2 guides, check with a SJF admissions representative for suggested courses to take at MCC. View
