Directions:

1.
Use your MCC Degree Works worksheet and the
St. John Fisher University (SJF) MCC Liberal Arts Advising Guide for Transfer Services to choose courses to take at MCC. Look under English - B.A.  Make sure to take ENG 210 and ENG 213 as well as at least one of these three courses: ENG 201, 202, 203, 204.

Note that this 2+2 Transfer Pathway Advising Guide directly follows the MCC Degree Works worksheet; no modifications or substitutions are needed, however, it is strongly recommended to take the English courses advised by SJF.

It is also recommended to take courses that SJF approves as liberal arts courses for any open electives. Liberal Arts qualification can be verified by viewing the
SJF Transfer Course Equivalency Database. Good choices include: English, social sciences, math, natural sciences, foreign languages, philosophy, as well as SPC courses. HED 115, 116, and 130 will also transfer as liberal arts coursework to SJF.

Students are strongly advised to graduate from MCC before transferring as SJF waives their local general education course requirements for students transferring with an Associate degree.

Prospective MCC students, see the
MCC English A.A. degree outline under Program Details.

2.
Meet with your MCC advisor and
SJF Transfer Admission staff to plan your transfer. Apply to SJF the semester before you complete your degree at MCC.

Note:

AP, IB, CLEP, transfer courses, MCC College Now or other Dual Enrollment credits:
Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. See: Credit Transfer Policies. Contact SJF with questions.

BA degree candidates need to show language proficiency. Students can fulfill the requirement by either having transfer credit for language at the 112 level at Fisher (102 level at MCC), taking course(s) at Fisher to complete at the 112 level or by taking a language proficiency test through the department of Modern Languages at Fisher that demonstrates proficiency at the 112 level. The proficiency test does not result in academic credit, as this is not a credit requirement. Transfer coursework will result in academic credit.

BA degrees require a minor (18 credits in another area). For specific course recommendations to fulfill open elective areas, please contact a SJF admissions representative or reference the
St. John Fisher Advising Guides.

Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required for acceptance and for MCC graduation.

The English A.A. (EG01) will be the degree student is audited against and awarded from MCC.

While every effort is made to ensure accurate information, students are strongly advised to verify course transferability with the four-year institution as they will make the final determination of transfer credit.
