2+2 Transfer Pathway Guides
2+2 with St. John Fisher University
B.A./B.S. Chemistry (LC30)
MCC Degree Awarded:
Chemistry A.S. (LSC1)
Please note that some courses required in a 2+2 Transfer Pathway may not be required for the MCC program. This could have financial aid implications. Students should meet with their advisor or with a transfer representative to discuss an academic plan and recommended sequence of courses.
Directions:
1. Use your MCC Degree Works worksheet and the St.
John Fisher (SJF) MCC Liberal Arts Advising Guide for Transfer Students
to choose courses to take at MCC. Note that this 2+2 Transfer Pathway Advising
Guide directly follows the MCC Degree Works worksheet; no modifications
or substitutions are needed. However, note that:
- MTH 212 Calculus III and MTH 225 Differential Equations are recommended
to be taken at MCC as electives.
- Fisher will accept College Physics I and II (PHY 145 & 146). However,
University Physics I and II (PHY 161 & 261) are required for the MCC
degree.
Students are strongly advised to graduate from MCC before transferring
as SJF waives their local general education course requirements for students
transferring with an Associate degree.
Prospective MCC students: see the MCC
Chemistry A.S. degree outline under Program Details.
2. Meet with your MCC advisor and SJF
Transfer Admission staff
to plan your transfer. Apply to SJF the semester before you complete your
degree at MCC.
Note:
St. John Fisher University offers both a BA and BS degree in Chemistry.
BA degrees require a minor (18 credits in another area).
AP, IB, CLEP, transfer courses, MCC College Now or other Dual Enrollment
credits: Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. See:
Credit
Transfer Policies.
Contact
SJF with questions.
Foreign Language: St. John Fisher B.A. candidates need to show language
proficiency. They can do this by either having transfer credit for language
at the MCC 102 level, taking course(s) at Fisher to complete at the MCC
102 level or by taking a language proficiency test through the department
of Modern Languages at Fisher that demonstrates proficiency at the MCC
102 or equivalent Fisher 112 level.
Refer to: SJF's Transfer
