2+2 Transfer Pathway Guides

Please note that some courses required in a 2+2 Transfer Pathway may not be required for the MCC program. This could have financial aid implications. Students should meet with their advisor or with a transfer representative to discuss an academic plan and recommended sequence of courses.

As of Fall 2023, all incoming transfer students to Nazareth with an Associate Degree are exempt from the core requirements. The courses listed below for the Naz core can still be taken, however, the main priority is obtaining a degree before transferring and completing courses needed for your major. Updated 2/22/2023 Credit Hours FIRST SEMESTER: MTH 210 Calculus I 4 ENG 101 College Composition 3 SUNY-SS or SUNY-AH Elective: Recommended SOC or PSY 101 3 SUNY-A or SUNY-FL Elective: Take first semester of a Foreign Language sequence for Naz core 3 Open Elective: Recommend MUS 101 or 150, ART 118 or 118, or THE 110 for Naz core 3  Total: 16 SECOND SEMESTER: MTH 211 Calculus II 4 MTH 220 Discrete Mathematics 3 PHL 101 Introduction to Philosophy or PHL 103  Introduction to Ethics or PHL 105 Technology and Values for Naz core 3 SUNY-OWC or SUNY-WC Elective: HIS 113 Western Civilization I or HIS 114 Western Civilization II for Naz core 3 Open Elective: Take second semester of a Foreign Language sequence for Naz core 3  Total: 16 THIRD SEMESTER: MTH 212 Calculus III 4 SUNY-NS Elective: Choose first course of sequence in PHY 161, 261 4 MCC-HW Elective (Could be 2-credits if student can complete the minimum 60 credits for graduation.) 3 Open Elective: Recommend ENG 200 for Naz core 3  Total: 14 FOURTH SEMESTER: MTH 230 Linear Algebra 4 SUNY-NS Elective: Choose second course of sequence in PHY 161, 261 4 MCC-TL Elective: Recommend CSC 101 Introduction to Computer Science 3-4 Open Elective: Recommend ENG Literature for Naz core 3  Total: 14-15 TOTAL CREDITS 60-61 Choose courses that fulfill both Nazareth Core Curriculum and MCC degree requirements when possible. Use the Nazareth/MCC Core Curriculum and Nazareth Transfer Credit Database to cross-reference courses. Students need to take a course in: History, Literature, Mathematics, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Science with a laboratory, Social Science, Visual and Performing Arts. (One must be completed at Nazareth University). AP, IB, CLEP, Dual Enrollment, & Transfer courses: Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. Contact Nazareth to determine if those credits are transferable. Keep copies of your work from the courses you take at MCC. Archive them in Google.docs or Dropbox so you won't lose them. At the end of your core work at Nazareth, you will be required to integrate your learning experience based on a question that interests you in the Core Curriculum Milestone Experience. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher advised for acceptance at Nazareth University in the  majors. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required for MCC graduation. The Mathematics A.S.
