Please note that some courses required in a 2+2 Transfer Pathway may not be required for the MCC program. This could have financial aid implications. Students should meet with their advisor or with a transfer representative to discuss an academic plan and recommended sequence of courses.
As of Fall 2023, all incoming transfer students to Nazareth with an Associate Degree are exempt from the core requirements.
The courses listed below for the Naz core can still be taken, however, the main priority is obtaining a degree before transferring and completing courses needed for your major. Updated 2/22/2023

Choose courses that fulfill both Nazareth Core Curriculum and MCC degree requirements when possible. Use the Nazareth/MCC Core Curriculum to cross-reference courses.

Students need to take a course in: History, Literature, Mathematics, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Science with a laboratory, Social Science, Visual and Performing Arts. (One must be completed at Nazareth University).
* REGARDING MATH: Calculus I (MTH 210 at MCC) is required for Accounting degree at Naz; it is not required for Business Leadership or Marketing.
+ RECOMMENDED: Choose from BIO 116, 120, 132&133; CHE 124, 151; GEG 100&101; GEO 101, PHY 120&121. Be sure to include the lab component.
SPC 142 Public Speaking is recommended for Business Leadership.
AP, IB, CLEP, Dual Enrollment, & Transfer courses: Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. Contact Nazareth to determine if those credits are transferable.
Keep copies of your work from the courses you take at MCC. Archive them in Google.docs or Dropbox so you won't lose them. At the end of your core work at Nazareth, you will be required to integrate your learning experience based on a question that interests you in the Core Curriculum Milestone Experience.
2.7 GPA required for acceptance at Nazareth University in the /Business Leadership/Marketing majors.
2.7 GPA required in both overall GPA and ACC courses for graduation in Accounting from Nazareth University.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required for MCC graduation.
