Optics Chair's Essay Published
An essay, titled "Biophotonics Revolution," by Dr. Alexis Vogt, chair of MCC's optical systems technology program, is posted on Photonics.com.
In her essay, Dr. Vogt calls on her colleagues in the industry to join her in promoting biophotonics-related careers/career opportunities and exposing students--especially girls--at a young age to the field in helping the industry stay competitive in the global economy. She draws attention to MCC's degree program and local employers' high demand for skilled technicians in optics/photonics manufacturing. She also highlights the success of MCC's dual-enrollment optics program.
