Deb Smith is Retiring

Please join us in celebrating the retirement of Deb Smith from Monroe Community College after 25 years of dedicated service. Deb's last day with MCC will be on March 22. Throughout her tenure, Deb has been an invaluable member of our community, contributing her extensive knowledge, technical expertise, and service with a smile that will be deeply missed.

During her time at MCC, Deb spearheaded significant technological transitions, including the migration from ROLM phones to Cisco systems, and most recently, the implementation of Cisco softphones on computers and laptops. She has tirelessly served all MCC campuses, from Damon to the Downtown Campus, ATC, PSTF, and Brighton. She has left no corner unexplored as she traversed rooftops, basements, ceilings, and under desks to ensure seamless operations. Additionally, she has persevered through many new construction and renovation projects. Her adaptability and forward-thinking approach to her work have been evident in every project.

She says she will miss meeting with the College community and problem-solving for them. Over the years she has found her time at MCC to be challenging and rewarding and, sometimes, a whole lotta fun.

As Deb embarks on this new chapter of her life, she looks forward to spending more time sailing on the Bay, delving into stacks of books, redesigning garden beds, and hanging around Vision Pottery.

Please join us in the Forum on Tuesday, March 19, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM, to extend our best wishes to Deb as she bids farewell to MCC and embraces the adventures that lie ahead. Refreshments will be served as we celebrate her remarkable career and wish her all the best in her retirement.
