Spring 2024 Nursing Application Deadline is September 30th

The following information was posted in the Student Tribune today and may be helpful for anyone who works with nursing pathway students. Please feel free to share as needed: 

This is a friendly reminder for students who are planning to apply to MCC’s Nursing Program (NU01 or NU02) for Spring 2024. The application/major change request is now available! The deadline to apply for spring is September 30th. Please see below for additional details.

Before Applying

  • Please be sure you have reviewed the 2024 admission requirements and selection process on the Nursing admission information sheet. A list of helpful FAQs can be found on the Admission and Application Process webpage.
  • Applicants must meet all admission requirements at the time of application for consideration.
  • Students who are still taking quality point classes can apply, but points are awarded only for the classes that are complete by the application deadline.

How to Apply

  • Sign into your myMCC account and click on the Student Home or Academic Plan tile, then select the Change Major link.
  • Select Spring 2024, then choose NU01 or NU02 from the drop-down menu (only choose NU02 if you are a current LPN, or if you are seeking readmission to NUR 112).
  • Submit the major change request. That’s it! The major change request serves as your application.
  • Please note: If you will be graduating at the end of this semester, you must apply through the Admissions Office (link below).

Once You Have Applied

  • You will receive an email confirmation of the major change request. There is also a link in your Student Records that says Major Change Request Status and that will give you a history of what major changes you’ve submitted and their status.
  • Admission decisions for NU01 are made by October 31st. Decisions for NU02 are made by early January.
  • If you are waitlisted, you will be given your waitlist number and contacted if a seat becomes available. Please keep in mind the waitlist does not carry over from semester to semester.
  • Applicants and waitlisted students who are not admitted for spring can reapply for Fall 2024 (the deadline for fall is January 31st, 2024).
  • Students who are not currently attending should apply/reapply through the Admissions Office via MCC’s online application.
