Improving Collaboration with Curriculum Approvals

We are all too busy to read everything that comes our way - as carefully as we should.  The following is a suggested tip for every department:

Occasionally, the Curriculum Office receives feedback that someone is concerned regarding an aspect of an approved curriculum proposal but had neglected to raise the concern during the vetting process. During the Curriculum workflow process, curriculum proposals are posted in the Tribune for the College Community to review and comment during a two-week period.

The Curriculum Office and Curriculum Committee encourages each academic and professional department to consider designating an individual to review proposals.  Maybe departments can schedule a shared rotation to review.

The development of a robust and student-centered curriculum requires input from various stakeholders, and the 2-week College-wide posting period is the opportunity for stakeholders to enhance collaboration and address any concerns.

Lastly, the Curriculum Office extends a thank you to curriculum proposers, those with a designated role with reviewing and approving proposals and particularly the Curriculum Committee Chair, April Daniels and Curriculum Committee members for their collective work.
