Build Sustainability into Your Life - Buy in Bulk

Buying in “bulk” can save you money and help reduce the use of plastic packaging.

  • Buy the quantity you need, reducing waste.
  • Bring your own glass/reusable container, reducing the use of plastic packaging (depending on the vendor/store).

Some local options:

  • Abundance Food Co-op (open for everyone to shop at) boasts the largest bulk department in the Rochester area.
  • Lori’s Natural Foods Center – located in the Genesee Valley Regional Market Authority
  • Rochester Public Market  -- Tuesdays and Thursdays 6am to 1pm, Saturdays 6am to 3pm with free parking at one of 5 City-owned Market parking lots. Market Token Program enables those with SNAP benefits to buy products from over 100 participating vendors.
