A Call for Student Commencement Speakers

Apply to be a Student Commencement Speaker!

Monroe Community College’s 61st Commencement Ceremony honoring our 2024 graduates is scheduled for:

Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024
Time: 7pm
Location: Blue Cross Arena

We are seeking a student to be the student speaker at this event. That student will deliver a speech of approximately 5 minutes to the graduating class and their guests. The student speaker will receive coaching on preparing and delivering their speech.

Applications will be accepted throughThursday March 28, 2024, at 4:45 pm. Any student who is graduating this May can apply.  Please fill out the 2024 Student Commencement Speaker Opportunity form.

In addition to filling out contact information, the application will ask for a personal statement of 100 words or less describing their personal story at MCC and how it relates to other graduating students.

Once the applications have been collected, a number of students will be asked to audition for the role.

For staff and faculty, if you know of a student who would make a good speaker, please encourage them to apply.
