TV Segment Spotlights the Wentworths and Their Support of MCC Students

WHEC-TV's segment on Timothy Wentworth, an MCC alumnus who will soon take the helm as chief executive officer for Walgreens, aired on Oct. 17. The reporter interviewed Professor John Nyerges and Mark Pastorella, associate vice president of development with the MCC Foundation, about Timothy and wife Robin Wentworth's gifts totaling more than $7 million throughout the past 14 years. Timothy and Robin graduated from MCC in 1980.

Quotes:

"They were looking at the piano that we had at the time, and they wanted to do something for us that would really help the program." -- Professor Nyerges said of the Wentworths, who underwrote the purchase of a Steinway grand piano to MCC's Visual and Performing Arts Department. The piano arrived in 2010.

"When they reached the opportunity to be able to give back, that's their passion. ... They really want those students to know that they can be inspired, that they can come to MCC and go anywhere, can do anything. There's probably nobody, nobody more proud of their MCC education than Robin and Tim Wentworth." -- Mark Pastorella
