New Notice of Human Resources Action Form

We are happy to share that our new fully electronic Notice of Human Resources Action (HRA for short) is now available!

Types of Hires HRA Supports: This form can be used for all types of hires EXCEPT 61223, 61411 and federal work study for students. These hires will still need to be processed through a Banner Workflow as they have been in the past.

Types (both College funded and Grants) include:

  • Full time Civil Service
  • Full Time or Adjunct Faculty/Admin
  • PT Hourly – Professional
  • PT Hourly – Student (Please always select this option if the hire is a student employee as long they it will not be 61411 or federal work study)
  • PT Hourly – Support Staff/Technical
  • PT Hourly – Tutor

When to Complete: An HRA should be completed after a hire accepts a verbal offer of employment from the college.

Who should Complete:

  • For part-time hires (except 61223, 61411 and federal work study), the hiring department should launch the HRA form after an offer acceptance but before the start date. Must provide 10 to 14 days for HR to process.
  • For full-time hires, the division's Vice President Secretary will launch the HRA form after an offer acceptance but before the start date. Must provide 10 to 14 days for HR to process.
  • For adjunct hires, the hiring department should launch an HRA when a course is planned to be assigned to an adjunct who is has never worked for the college.
    • Please note: If they have never worked for the College, they must have gone through the formal search process in the past and be in the approved adjunct pool for the department. Must provide 10 to 14 days for HR to process onboarding.

Where to Locate: The HR Action (HRA) form is located in the following tiles on the MyMCC portal. Employee Home > Online Forms > HUMAN Resources > Notice of HR Action.

How to Complete: Once you are in the HRA form, click Create New Form and select the form that best applies to your type of hire. You will then be prompted to fill out the HRA form and submit for routing. If you have any specific questions about filling out the HRA form, please email HR (HR@monroecc.edu).

After Completing: The HRA form is routed to the necessary departments for approvals. HR will send the hire any required onboarding during this time. It is important that the HRA lists the hire's personal email address so we can send the electronic onboarding out. Once the hire is clear to start in their role, HR will notify the hiring department.

Important Reminders and Tips:

  • Hiring can never cross college fiscal years, regardless of the funding source. Depending on the appointment dates, 2 HRA forms may need to be submitted.
  • If a form is incorrect, your submitted HRA may be sent back to you to update and resubmit. The creator will receive an email notification when this occurs.
  • You can view and monitor your submitted HRA forms in the Notice of HR Action center.
  • If you need to delete a submitted HRA form for any reason, please email HR for assistance.
  • The only type of hires HRA does NOT support is 61223, 61411 or federal work study. These should be submitted through a banner workflow as they have in the past.
  • HR requires AT LEAST 10 to 14 days to process pre-employment onboarding paperwork for all hires. This timeframe allows all HRA approvals to be received, onboarding to be sent and completed by the new employee, background checks to be cleared and gives HR adequate time to process any remaining pre-employment paperwork. Please make sure the appointment/start date in your HRA accounts for this necessary time.
  • Any verbal or written employment offer extended to an applicant is subject to a pre-employment background investigation.
