TCC Kudos, Day 4: Another day to thank our adjunct faculty!

Once again, the TCC would like to honor the inspirational work of our MCC adjunct faculty, who help our students achieve their goals every day. Enjoy reading our students pay homage to the exceptional educators who have helped them complete some of the courses that intimidated them the most below!

Michael Rhoda, Math (2 submissions)

  • Professor Rhoda teaches very thoroughly and is beyond kind. 
  • Professor Rhoda is hands down one of the best Math professors/ teachers I ever encountered. His clear teaching skills has not only allowed me to understand maths but gave me the confidence to keep trying harder and harder in maths although it’s a subject I struggled with. I had him for maths this year via Online/Zoom class. I could not stop bragging how great of a person he is to his students and what a great maths professor he is. He always go out and beyond in explaining a question to me or to any of his students. His mannerisms and respect towards his student is something to be applaud for and is outmatched. 

Donald Toyer, Math

  • Professor has Toyer has been an awesome teacher to me and my classmates. He always makes sure we have a clear understanding of the work provided to us so that we can be successful. He is very thorough and super helpful. I appreciate him and how awesome of a teacher he is! 

Debra Sobko, Math

  • Mrs. Sobko has been a great help throughout the semester. I can tell that she cares about the student's success. She goes over and beyond her duty to meet via Zoom for any questions we may have as late as 9pm. I think that's rare for a professor to do. 

Tony d'Apice, Math

  • Professor Tony is the best math teacher I’ve ever had, and he makes sure the class understands the material before moving on. I’ve had the most successful year ever in math with Professor Tony. 

David Herbst (2 submissions)

  • Every day of class, Professor Herbst goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands the concepts. He doesn't let a single student fall through the cracks. He makes sure to check on each and every student in the room and makes sure they understand the process before moving on to the next subject. As someone who always fell behind in math, having Professor Herbst has been a great experience and it has really helped me understand the material.
  • This professor is not only engaging with the students and teaches the core principles in his class, but he is by all accounts, the best professor MCC has to offer, with his care for students and trying to understand each and every student's differential lifestyle and adjusting around said life style David Herbst has kept me to stay as his student as long as possible.

Jonathan Auyer, Philosophy

  • His engagement with our class is encouraging and thoughtful. He provides solid feedback on our discussions and assignments. The assignments make us think deeply about what we are learning and he is always helpful when needed.

Michelle DeGraff

  • I would like to thank Professor DeGraff for going out of her way to make sure her students understand the concepts she is teaching us. It is very easy to get lost in psychology and she makes it her point to interact with all of us as best as she can. She answers emails faster than any of the professors I have ever had which I am very thankful for when it comes to questions about an assignment that is due. She also leaves very clear comments and feedback on assignments, her feedback is very constructive and that's helpful for future assignments. Professor DeGraff is one professor I will never forget when I leave MCC, she is kind, compassionate and understanding. 

Paul Ciaccia, Psychology

  • Professor Ciaccia went above and beyond to make his course practical and interesting. He used many examples and at times even jokes to better illustrate his points. But what makes him great is that he always has time to talk with his students and helps them better understand the material. I loved learning with him so much that I'm planning to take another course with him and work my entire schedule around it. Thank you, Professor Ciaccia, for making psychology so interesting!

John Price, Transitional Studies

  • Our Professor, Mr. Price is very passionate with his career, and it shows in the way he treats everyone, with full attention and willing to go all measures and take some extra time to further assist you until you are comfortable and knowledgeable of the work he has helped unscramble. Mr. Price is a really great professor, and most importantly, he is understanding. 

Donna Burke, Professional Studies

  • Donna is a great person and understanding. Always making sure you are comfortable and willing to help others in need. She helps you to feel like you could be something and to not give up. Mrs. Burke is remarkable. I love her for a teacher.

Greg Lendeck, Visual and Performing Arts

  • He's been extremely helpful, and has given great advice throughout the class. He's also been very patient.
