Passing of Marie Fetzner, Retiree, Institutional Advancement

The MCC family is saddened to learn of the passing of Marie Fetzner, Institutional Advancement retiree, on February 19, 2024, at the age of 67.

A lifelong learner, Marie earned her bachelor of music education from the Eastman School of Music, her master of public administration from SUNY Brockport, her Ph.D.. in education from the University of Rochester, and completed 20 credit hours in the MBA program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She joined MCC in 1987 as an Institutional Development Specialist and achieved the position of Special Assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Educational Technology. During her career, some of her achievements include being selected for the MCC Award for Excellence in Professional Service, being selected for the Dr. Wesley T. Hanson Award for Excellence in Professional Service, budget management and planning, and working as a banner project manager. After 25 years of service, Marie retired in 2012. 

Marie is predeceased by her mother Mary and survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Charles, father Lucien, brother Lou (Terry), and sister Linda (Joe).
