Day 9 of TCC Appreciations: Kudos for Math Faculty

Please join the TCC in acknowledging the following Math Department colleagues who received student kudos:

Karen Atkinson

  • Professor Atkinson did what seems to be impossible. She made me like Algebra. I had a terrible experience in the first semester but all my woes are gone because of Professor Atkinson. She always starts with a little music before class and explains Algebra in a way that we can get it and it sticks. She is amazing at what she does. God bless!!!!
  • Helpful if needed. Provided explanations for students who needed help with problems. Always there to talk and help students out. Makes the class easy and understandable

Laura Bond

  • Professor Bond goes above and beyond to take the time to make sure her students have the available resources to understand the course materials and will schedule study session with any student in need. She is an awesome professor!
  • Goes Above And Beyound - Makes Math Easy, MCC's Best Math Teacher Hands Down

Mary Cameron

  • Mrs. Cameron has made my experience taking Calculus II wonderful. Taking such an advanced class can be daunting and overwhelming, yet her well thought out and planned course has made for a great experience. I've never felt frustrated with a lack of resources or as if there wasn't help when I needed it. Thank you very much for your efforts in providing a great learning experience!

Donald Cater

  • A great teacher and great person. He does well working with and connecting with his students. Doesn’t lecture but rather makes it into a conversation and takes time to actually answer questions from the students and makes sure the student understands before moving on. One of my favorite professors no doubt.
  • I’m decent at math but it’s not my favorite and wrapping my head around the variability of statistics is tricky. I did not think this class would be FUN! Professor Cater is available for help, is a quality teacher and just makes the class enjoyable with his personal love for math. It’s much more engaging and I find I don’t mind learning from someone whose ethics and intelligence are respectable and relatable. This class is anything but boring. Would definitely recommend learning the ridiculousness called Stats with Don Cater.

Claudio DiMarco

  • Professor DiMarco does a great job with explaining difficult topics for me. Whenever I go to his office hours, I know that I’ll leave with a clear understanding of anything I was stuck on. He also makes class enjoyable by being down to earth and relatable.

David Herbst

  • This professor is not only engaging with the students and teaches the core principles in his class, but, he is by all accounts, the best professor mcc has to offer, with his care for students and trying to understand each and every student's differential lifestyle and adjusting around said life style David Herbst has kept me to stay as his student as long as possible.

Rachel Santiago

  • Professor Santiago has taught me more than she will ever know this semester. She shows up everyday ready to educate the class in whatever way we need her to. She has shown us how to persevere through adversity and never stop. She patiently laid down the mathematic foundation we all need to be successful in our futures. I could not be more thankful for her. I think my entire class would agree.

Paul Seeburger

  • Professor Seeburger has been a great Calculus 2 professor for me. He has always been respectful in the classroom and has always encouraged students to ask questions if they do not understand what is being taught. I have never had a problem reaching out to him during office hours or by email. He has always responded to me in a timely manner. He provides an abundance amount of material for students study and practice with. When the class has struggled with an assignment he has on numerous occasions push the deadline back and again walks students through it. It is clear that Professor Seeburger cares very much about his students understanding the material that he is so passionate about teaching. If this was not my last mathematics class at MCC I would most certainly take my next one with Professor Seeburger.

Michael Wagner

  • I have never seen a math professor explaining the subject with such passion. His lessons are interesting, understandable and his explanations are amazing. His policies and tests are more than just fair. Great Professor.
  • He has been a great teacher all semester. He has really put forth the effort to teach his students and help them through the class. He is always willing to answer question and help students in office hours. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does!

Matthew Williams

  • I was hesitant about taking statistics during my second semester of college, especially since I struggled with math in high school. I heard from others how difficult the course was, which made me even more apprehensive. However, my experience with Professor Williams has been nothing but positive. Despite the length of the class, he keeps the class engaged with his storytelling and unique teaching style. He is an expert in explaining complex topics in a way that's easy to understand, and he always makes sure the class fully comprehends the material. Professor Williams is also very accommodating of students' busy schedules, which is evident in his leniency with due dates. I'm grateful to have had him as my statistics teacher and while I hope to never take this class again, I will always remember how much fun he brought to the classroom.
  • Professor Williams makes math class a little more enjoyable.
