Join us today for a demo of Instructure's Canvas Credentials badging product

As a part of the MCC APPLIED Title III SIP grant, the Badging and Incentive workgroup created a RFP (Request for Proposal) to select a product to support a college wide badging system.

Please join us today at 2pm via zoom (link attached) to view a demonstration on Instructure's Canvas Credentials badging product. Below is a short description of this product from the Instructure RFP Response:

“Canvas Credentials empowers learners through their educational journey – Whether they be traditional, non-traditional, career shifters or a little bit of everything in-between. Canvas Credentials empowers Higher Ed, K-12, Associations, Workforce Development, Technical Training and Corporate companies to combine and connect badges from multiple sources into a meaningful pathway for students. Motivate and engage students with visual, stackable, and shareable pathways while empowering them to carry their skills throughout their educational journey. Utilizing EMSI data, Canvas Credentials connect students to real world applications of their skills and progress to visualize career outlook and salary expectations.

Canvas Credentials differentiating features are:

  • Open Badges: Open Badges is the world's leading format for digital badges. Badges issued  via Credentials conform fully to the Open Badges 2.0 standard.
  • Native in Canvas LMS: teachers and students can access all Credentials functionality directly within Canvas LMS.
  • Stackable Pathways: students know where they’re at along their educational journeys. Can use badges earned as prerequisites for higher-level pathways. Badges in pathways can be badges from anywhere, not just Canvas Credentials.
  • Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR): a shareable repository for all of a learner’s skills & accomplishments.”

Once the badging system is launched, students and employees will be able to post their badges on social media sites such as LinkedIn, and in their e-portfolios.

The demos will be recorded. Please complete this short badging survey following each demo.
