STEM OER Grant Opportunity

Community-engaged Courseware for STEM Success (CCSS) grant - SUNY OER Services and the Open Learning Initiative (OLI) invite interested community college STEM faculty to participate in the Community-engaged Courseware for STEM Success (CCSS) grant.  This is a three-year grant (currently in year two). The overall objective is to use data-driven results to improve outcomes for STEM learners at community colleges with an emphasis on traditionally underserved students. Participation in the grant provides a one-time stipend of $5,000 to each participating faculty member.

Courses are delivered in OLI’s adaptive platform. The grant will provide assessment data that measures student success as they progress through each course. The courseware allows faculty to identify and customize content where students may be struggling with specific learning outcomes. Each module includes learn-by-doing assessments for students to measure their learning progress.

Interested faculty are invited to review the General Chemistry I and General Chemistry II demo courses.

The OLI STEM courseware easily integrates into your LMS and is provided at no cost to SUNY students and faculty.

For more information, contact OER Librarian, Michelle Beechey (mbeechey@monroecc.edu), or Prof. Nicole Simon (Nicole.Simon@ncc.edu) at Nassau Community College.
