Save the Date: Trans Day of Remembrance

Save the date, November 20th is Trans Day of Remembrance. To honor this day, the Title IX office is bringing in a local speaker and activist to talk about their experiences here in Rochester:

  • in the Prism Multi-Cultural Center
  • from 12:00 to 1:00pm  

Trans Day of Remembrance honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people — sometimes in the most brutal ways possible — it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.” – Transgender Day of Remembrance founder Gwendolyn Ann Smith
