Service-Learning Second Annual Newsletter
Service-Learning is alive and well on campus! Attached is the second newsletter highlighting just a few of the wonderful Service-Learning projects students were involved with this year that helped them connect course work with the real world, and made a difference for the both college and greater Rochester community.
In addition to the Service-Learning projects shown in the newsletter, the students in these courses also created ePortfolios.
- The GEG 239 course is the capstone for students graduating with the Geospatial Information Systems Technology Certificate or the Geospatial Technology Track of the A.S. Degree in Geography. Their ePortfolios professionally enhance their credentials and create a competitive advantage for jobs or transfer.
- The BUS 104 and AAD 205 course ePortfolios allowed students to start documenting their educational journey and building their personal brand.
Please consider Service-Learning or ePortfolios as a High Impact Practice (HIP) for your courses. Email Kathleen Borbee (kborbee@monroecc.edu) so I can help you brainstorm ideas -
