Flexible Work Procedure - Effective After June 30, 2023

With support from President Burt-Nanna and her Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and in consultation with the Faculty Association and Civil Service Employee Association (CSEA), the Board of Trustees voted on Monday, June 12, 2023 to adopt the Flexible Work Procedure for Monroe Community College.  This procedure replaces the Telecommuting Pilot program which expires on Friday, June 30, 2023.  In order to participate in the new Flexible Work program, requests must be submitted via the established application processes.  The initial determination to approve or deny a request for a flexible work arrangement occurs at the supervisor/department head level, and final determination rests with the respective divisional Vice President or their designee.

Each employee is strongly encouraged to read the Flexible Work procedure in its entirety.  Applications to apply for Flexible Work arrangements (or to continue Flexible Work Arrangements) through June 2024, must be submitted using the updated electronic form.  The initial determination will be communicated to the employee in writing within seven (7) calendar days of receipt. Thereafter, the division Vice President or their designee make a final determination, which will be communicated to the employee within seven (7) calendar days of receipt.  If the request is denied, an explanation will be provided to the employee.  In the event of an appeal, a review by a three-party panel comprised of the Executive Director, Human Resources and Organizational Development or their designee, a representative of the Faculty Association (FA), and a representative of the CSEA is possible. Please note that applications must be renewed annually.

To access the form, log into myMCC.  Click on "Employees" and then on "Employee Essentials."  Locate the "Human Resources" section on the right side of the "Employee Essentials" webpage.  Click on "Flexible Work Program" and you will be brought to a new webpage with a link to the application at the bottom.

The application link will not be active until Friday, June 30, 2023.  If you have any questions regarding the new procedure, please reach out to the HR department.
