TCC: Register Now for October's Adjunct Supper for Success

Registration is now open for the next Adjunct Supper for Success: Active Learning Techniques for the Classroom

As faculty we hear and speak a lot about teaching in ways that promote “active learning” in our students. But what is it, and what does it look like during a class session? And how do we know it’s working? Join colleagues for a meal and discussion where biology professors Christopher Wendtland and Tracey Graney will share insights from an institute on active-learning pedagogy they attended and discuss their own experiences with it in their courses, ranging from success to failure. Participants will leave with strategies for implementing active-learning activities into their own classes, whether those classes are traditional/face-to-face, hybrid, or online.

When: Tuesday, October 17, 5:00 to 6:30 PM

Where: Monroe A, Brighton Campus

Registration is required. RSVP by completing the Adjunct Faculty Supper Registration Survey by Wed, Oct. 11.

Questions? Please contact Linda Carson and Mark Sample, co-chairs of the Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Program.

Adjunct Suppers are not live-streamed, but they are recorded. You can access the Adjunct Suppers Video Playlist on the TCC's Brightspace to see past programs, including the most recent Supper on Sept. 18.
