Kelsey Bright Appointed Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs

Dear MCC faculty, staff, and students,

Monroe Community College is pleased to announce that candidate Kelsey Bright accepted the appointment of Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs, effective March 8, 2024. Kelsey brings extensive experience and expertise in higher education administration, research, and leadership to her new role.

Kelsey’s background includes over 10 years of higher education administrative experience at both Finger Lakes Community College and MCC. Kelsey's journey at MCC began with her role as Assistant to the Provost, where she provided strategic leadership in support of the Office of the Provost. Kelsey most recently served as Interim Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs.

Prior to her work in the community college setting, Kelsey worked in Washington, DC, in the Education, Workforce, and Income Security Division at the US Government Accountability Office. There, Kelsey led nationwide studies of higher education programs that resulted in recommendations to congressional committees for improvements in higher education policy.

Kelsey holds a Master of Science in Policy Analysis from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Economics and Women's Studies from Allegheny College.

In her new role as Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs, Kelsey will continue to leverage her experience and leadership skills to advance MCC's mission of providing accessible, high-quality education to students in the Rochester community and beyond.
