TCC Day 3 of Kudos: Students Appreciate Adjunct Faculty Part 1

MCC has an amazing cadre of adjunct faculty members, many of whom were honored by their departments in Tribune announcements throughout the semester.  Today and tomorrow, please join the TCC in congratulating those adjuncts whose students took the time to acknowledge their important contributions to teaching and learning.

Michael Anthony, Biology

  • Professor Anthony is a kind and patient professor. He’s always willing to help his students and is by far my favorite professor.

David Crawford, Education and Human Services

  • Professor Crawford goes above and beyond for his students. He wants all of us to succeed and will do anything to help if he can. Professor Crawford truly cares and is passionate in the work that he does.

Patricia Dano, Health and Physical Education

  • She is a great Professor who gives her student plenty of grace and will try her best to help a student that may be struggling. She ensures that we are all comfortable with what we are doing and learning in CPR and AED for emergency purposes.
  • Ms Dano is an amazing teacher! I cannot believe she’s been with the school for over 40 years. She’s semi retired- working part time AND teaches one of my night classes. She’s in her 70s, and teaching kids at night- to me, that says something. She loves what she does and you can just feel that. She’s sooo funny, actually cares, and truly helps her students if we don’t understand something. I’m actually really sad the semester is ending because I love my class with her!
  • I am writing this comment to express my appreciation for my college professor, Professor Dano, who teaches emergency care. She is truly an awesome professor and her passion for the subject is contagious. From the first day of class, I knew that I was going to enjoy this course. Professor Dano has a way of making her lectures interesting and engaging, and she always incorporates real-life scenarios that help us understand the material better. Her teaching style is impressive, and she creates a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts. What I appreciate most about Professor Dano is her dedication to ensuring that we have a thorough understanding of the material. She uses various methods, such as practical exercises and simulations, to help us develop the skills we need to provide emergency care effectively. As a result, I feel much more confident and prepared to handle emergency situations than I did before taking this course. In conclusion, I want to thank Professor Dano for being an outstanding professor and for teaching us valuable skills that will undoubtedly benefit us in the future. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from her and I hope to take more courses with her in the future.

Bridget Dee, ESOL/TRS

  • Professor Dee does a terrific job teaching as an ESL teacher. She is very kind and flexible with students. Also, she teaches us with a great enthusiasm.

Mary Halecki, ENG/PHL and TRS

  • With this being my first year in college, she has helped me improve at writing essays. She takes her time and explains everything well. I like that she tries her best to make sure she's available for extra help. Her interaction with the class is great making everyone feel like their voices are heard.

Renee Henton, ENG/PHL and TRS

  • Ms. Henton is probably one of the best professors I have ever come across in my life. She’s is so caring and passionate about her profession. She allowed us to be creative and made our class feel like a little family. She was so patient with all of us and I cannot thank her enough for the semester I spent being her student. She always encouraged us and gave us the acknowledgment that we were doing great. Thank you Ms Henton. I will never forget you.

Ivan Matthew, Education and Human Services

  • Mr. Ivan has gotten through a lot this semester. His class is always so insightful and encouraging. I am so grateful to have had him as a professor.

Haj Marigh, ESOL/TRS

  • Professor Haj is very passionate when teaching. He is patient with each one of us and always goes far and beyond trying for us to understand better. He is very understanding when we have a difficulty and tries to make sure we have everything we need to complete an assignment. Not a lot of professors care for the students but he does.

Sangita Patel, Business

  • Professor Patel's ability to make complex economic theories accessible to her students. Her clear and concise explanations, combined with her engaging teaching style, have made economics more understandable and enjoyable for many students. Her dedication to creating a positive and collaborative learning environment has also made college studies more pleasant, as she encourages students to ask questions and participate in class discussions. Additionally, having her class in my schedule has been a great source of stress relief, as she is always approachable and willing to help students with any questions they may have. Her passion for economics is contagious, and her enthusiasm for the subject has inspired many students to pursue careers in the field. Overall, the economics professor's expertise, teaching style, and supportive nature make her an invaluable asset to the college community.

Mark Pellegrino, Engineering

  • Professor Pellegrino is the kind of professor that is no like other. College is hard, he makes sure to include jokes that makes it easier for the students to take. Having a professor like Prof. Pellegrino is something that I will forever remember.

Nitza Rodriguez, Health and Physical Education

  • She is an absolutely amazing professor! She made the class really easy to attend and understand. She is just a perfect person all around.

Professor Michael Scrivens, Business

  • Professor Michael Scrivens is a teacher that will understand the difficult times that you’re in. He is a person that lifted me up at some dark times. I had this professor for two semesters for two different classes, and in both of those classes, he was an outstanding professor, no matter what I was in he always understood and helped me any way he could.
