Safe Zone Training: Two Opportunities Next Week
The Safe Zone training program aims to increase the awareness, knowledge, and skills of individuals who wish to learn more about, and to advocate for, the LGBTQ+ community. Through this training, participants will learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender, and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. Participants will develop skills that will enable them to create safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals and to challenge homophobia, transphobia and heterosexism. Upon completion of the training, participants can choose to display the Safe Zone sticker as a visible symbol of their support and an affirmation of their commitment to ensuring that their communities are respectful, inclusive, and safe.
All members of the MCC community are invited to attend either session (see below). Even if you have attended Safe Zone training in the past, you are encouraged to join one of the sessions to remain current. Trainings will be offered:
Monday, June 5: 10:00am to 12 noon
