Brain Game Runners-Up

MCC's team tied for second place in Literacy Rochester's Brain Game on 10/19/23!  The competition was fierce as the Monroe County Library System tried to defend their trivia expertise title.  Table sponsorship, a wine pull, raffles, and silent auction raised funds to support the mission of Literacy Volunteers- "Our Mission is to improve the reading, math, English language, and digital literacy skills of adults.  Our trained volunteers support participants in achieving their personal goals to fully participate in the community as citizens, parents, consumers and workers."   This work resonates with MCC's goals- "1.2. Strengthen the College’s commitment to community, service, and justice by aligning the College community with a more just and equitable world." and "4.2. Strengthen the College’s commitment to civic, community, and global engagement."

MCC's team included Mark Sample, Eileen Wirley, Eric Berg, Margaret Semmer, Carly Collins, Patrick Morris, Michael Rhoda, Michelle Beechey, and Margaret Kaminsky.
