CARE to Improve Student Retention: Highlighting Faculty-driven Factors that Impact Student Success.

Instructors often have to become “masters of paradox” in their classroom (i.e., maintaining a structured course while allowing for some flexibility) when trying to help students be successful.  Developing a fair, but fluid approach to teaching that recognizes the situational nature of instruction can be challenging.  What does this balancing act look like from faculty with historically high rates of retention at MCC?  In this workshop, we will explore these approaches, provide practical strategies you can use to promote retention, and share the history and other outcomes of a student retention study conducted at MCC known as CARE.

Registeration is now open. Please complete the RSVP form by March 11, 2024.

If you have any questions, please email Mark Sample (msample@monroee.edu) or Christopher Wendtland (cwendtland@monroecc.edu), co-chairs of the Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Committee.
