MCC Daily Tribune

Are you getting "Captioning Complete" email notifications from YuJa for your old videos?

This is actually a good thing! As part of our initiatives to be completely compliant with ADA, we’ve started running an automated process that is captioning all the old videos that came over from our old Ensemble video server to the new YuJa video server, but that haven’t been captioned in the meantime. This process will be processing them gradually over the next few weeks, so if you haven't gotten these emails yet, you may soon. If you don't want to see these notifications it's simple to turn them off:

  • Go to Monroe Community College Video Platform on YuJa and log in with your regular MCC credentials and authentication
  • Click on the My Account icon in the top right corner (it probably will look like an outline of a human head if you haven’t changed your profile picture)
  • Choose the My Account in the drop-down menu
  • On the left, click on the exclamation point icon for Notifications
  • In the Email Configuration box, scroll down and un-check the box for Auto-Captioning Complete (as well as any other notifications you want to turn off)
  • Click Save

In case you're wondering, all videos newly submitted to YuJa are captioned as they come in, and it usually takes less than an hour to process.

Also, this is a great chance to let you know about two YuJa training sessions coming up that you should put on your calendar:

  • YuJa Videoserver Basics on Tuesday, October 10, at 3:15 pm through the Virtual Campus Zoom link
Learn how to create, upload, and embed videos in your Brightspace course through MCC’s YuJa Video Server.

  • YuJa Videoserver Advanced Features on Tuesday, October 17, at 3:15 pm through the Virtual Campus Zoom link
Learn how to do more advanced functions in YuJa, such as tracking whether your students are viewing your videos, simple edits to both a video and its captions, video quizzes, and more.
