The Reverend Penny Crudup '12 to Address 2017 Graduates
MCC Alumni Hall of Fame member the Reverend Penny Crudup '12 will deliver
the Message to the Graduates at MCC's Commencement, Saturday morning, June 3,
at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.
A native Rochesterian, Penny is a passionate motivator, dedicated volunteer
and a spiritual leader in our community. An Empire State Diversity Honors
Scholar, she earned a certificate in leadership development from MCC in 2011,
followed by an associate degree in liberal arts-general studies in 2012. Her
MCC experience was enriched by her membership in the Alpha Theta Iota Chapter
of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
In her role as secretary and tenant liaison for Downtown United Presbyterian
Church in Rochester, Penny helps facilitate nearly 4,000 events each year. She
is also currently pursuing a master of divinity degree at Northeastern
Seminary.
In 2012, Penny received the WDKX Inspiring Woman Award. Last year, she was
inducted into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame. She gives back to MCC and inspires
current students as a frequent guest speaker on campus as a member of the MCC
Foundation's STAR Power Women's Giving Initiative committee.
MCC celebrates the success of the Class of 2017 and looks forward to the
inspiring words of the Rev. Penny Crudup, our featured Commencement speaker.
