Yesterday's Alert re: Threatening Social Media Post
Yesterday (Wednesday, Oct. 4), a social media post that contained
threatening language was brought to Monroe Community College's attention. The
College responded immediately with an investigation and a timely warning
message to employees and students. After speaking with the author of the social
media post, MCC's Public Safety Department determined that the post was not a
threat to the college. However, the College is reviewing the matter as a
possible violation of our Student Code of Conduct.
This is a reminder of the power of social media and its ability to do harm:
words matter. We urge our college community to use social media responsibly
We continue to encourage members of the college community to bring any
safety concerns to the College's attention immediately. MCC Public Safety can
be reached at 292-2911.
