Photography Students Publish A Book Together With Design Students In Taiwan
Photography students in Prof. Jasna Bogdanovska's Photography I
class had a rare opportunity to collaborate virtually with students from the
Digital Media Design School at National Yunlin University of Science and
Technology in Taiwan this past spring. The students in Taiwan were under the
lead of Prof. Wen Huei Chou, a Fulbright scholar who just finished her year
long residency in the US. The students from both countries were teamed up and
worked on the project that was a visual conversation on various themes. They
combined words, photographs and drawings. The project was published in Taiwan
in a book entitled Y & M International Cooperate Project (see attached.)
Professor Chou visited MCC in April 2016 as part of the Institute for
International Education/Fulbright's Outreach Visitor program which provides
funding for Fulbright Scholars to visit community colleges. She met with VaPA
faculty members, gave two lectures, and visited a photography exhibit at the
Eastman Museum with Professor Bogdanovska. Both faculty plan to continue their
successful collaboration.
