Cabbages and Kings Literary and Visual Arts Magazine Wins First-Place Award in National Competition
Congratulations to student-organization Cabbages and Kings for winning the
First-Place Award for Cabbages and Kings Literary and Visual Arts Magazine,
Issue 70 in the magazine category of the annual American Scholastic Press
Association's (ASPA) national competition!
Each magazine entry is evaluated and scored on a point system, and is
awarded a First-, Second- or Third Place Award in its classification. Award
criteria include style, format, contents, and presentability, particularly in
terms of page design, story layout, graphics, headlining, cover design,
advertising placement (if any) and photography. The competition receives a
tremendous number of entries for consideration, and MCC has won in the past as
well.
Special thanks go to Cabbages and Kings' 2017 student officers, literary and
visual art editors, production staff, committee, donors, and faculty advisors
Marj Crum (VaPA) and Catharine Ganze-Smith (English/Philosophy).
