Student Tribune
College Closed - Holiday Break
As stated in my Tribune release of December 14,
2016, regarding the College closing for the Holidays, the safety and security
of the College community and the public is of the utmost importance to us. The
closing of the College is to ensure the College is protected against liability
in the event of injury or death to anyone on the premises during periods when
the College is closed.
It is our desire that all of our employees, with the exception of public
safety and facilities limited staffing, will be able to enjoy the holidays and
spend quality time with family and friends. To remain open during these periods
would certainly place a burden on a larger number of employees for ensuring the
safety and security of others. As such, no activities or events are to take
place during the time period of Sunday, December 24 through Monday, January 1.
Public Safety staff have been instructed not to unlock doors or permit access
to any building or office.
As a reminder this year, it is only the holiday period of December 24
through January 1 that the campuses are locked down and individuals are denied
access. During the other holidays when the College is closed, limited access is
provided to our faculty and staff.
