Security Infrastructure Improvement Project
The Department of Public Safety, in partnership with the Facilities
Department, has initiated a new infrastructure project designed to enhance the
safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff at the Brighton and
Downtown campuses as well as the Applied Technologies Center.
Facilities has begun the process of installing new door lock mechanisms
throughout the College. This will enhance the doors within those areas,
allowing them to be locked from inside each respective room without requiring
the use of a key. The new locking mechanisms contain a toggle lever which, when
turned by hand, will lock the door from inside the room. You will not be
required to obtain a new key as the new locking system will work with the keys
you have already been issued. This new locking feature will provide a quick and
efficient way to secure the door in the event of an emergency requiring a
Campus Lockdown.
The Public Safety and Facilities Departments appreciate your patience with
any disruptions that may be caused by this project and value your support as we
work together to provide a safe and secure campus.
Any questions, comments, or concerns regarding this project can be forwarded
to Public Safety Emergency Manager Chuck DiSalvo at cdisalvo@monroecc.edu or by
calling x2926.
Thank you.
