Learning Community and PAC-TAC visit PSTF
LEARNING COMMUNITY AND PAC-TAC VISIT THE PSTF
On May 11, , the learning Community of Law & Criminal Justice and
Transitional Studies along with PAC-TAC (Police and Citizens Against Crime)
visited the PSTF (Public Safety Training Facility). This facility is nationally
recognized for its excellence in training. The PSTF is part of MCC. It provides
training for local and county law enforcement, jail deputies, probation,
firefighters, EMS personnel and houses the Homeland Security Institute. The
tour was conducted by Peter Burnett (Program Coordinator) and Dan Carlson
(Program Coordinator) . The tour included parts of the Fire Training Academy,
Incidents room, and crime lab. This gave the students an inside look at various
careers in public safety. The CRJ and TRS Learning Community is the longest
continuously running learning community at MCC and has run for over 14 years.
Prof. Michael Nolan and Valerie Olivieri (CRJ Secretary) accompanied the
students on their tour.
