Windows Update

The Tech Desk has received reports that recent Windows Updates are taking longer than usual to run, in some cases over 60 minutes. You can take the following steps to minimize the inconvenience while the updates are applied.

If the PC prompts you, schedule the updates to run at the end of the day or at a time when you will not need your computer. If you choose to schedule the update when you are not here, make sure you log out so the computer can restart during the update. Also, you can restart the computer at the end of the day, which will install any updates that may have downloaded while you were working. These updates fix recent vulnerabilities. These steps will update your PC with minimal disruption while helping keep the college systems secure.
