Agencies Chosen for Community Fridays for a Cause

After overwhelming support and feedback the college is returning with Community Fridays for a Cause.  Employees and departments who choose to participate come prepared to make a donation to the charitable organizations below and in addition they are able to relax their dress to business casual.  We found that last year these Fridays created a greater sense of community and awareness when employees chose to wear MCC clothing or MCC school colors, black and gold.

Thank you for your nominations of charitable organizations to be included in the Community Fridays for a Cause program.  Unfortunately all those nominated couldn’t be included this year as over 20 organizations were nominated.  Those listed below were chosen by a random drawing:

Friday, September 30, 2011     Monroe Community College Foundation

Friday, November 4, 2011       MCC Peer Mentors Food Closet

Friday, December 2, 2011       St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center

Friday, February 3, 2012         Aids Care of Rochester

Friday, March 2, 2012             Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Friday, April 6, 2012               CURE Childhood Cancer

The program will kick off on September 30, 2011 which is obviously not the first Friday of the month.  It was decided to move the first Community Fridays for a Cause to coincide with the events of Alumni Week and Homecoming 2011 and to recognize the Monroe Community College Foundation and their contribution to this celebration and to our students.

Keep an eye on the Tribune for more details on our first Community Fridays for a Cause of 2011/2012.
