Library Workshop for Students: Evaluating Online Sources

Students today face an overwhelming amount of online information, some of it unreliable or misleading. As they tackle research assignments, it’s essential that they learn how  to evaluate sources effectively. To support them, MCC Libraries is hosting a workshop on Evaluating Online Sources on Wednesday, October 16. This session will teach students a simple yet effective strategy to assess the credibility of an online source.

Evaluating Online Sources Workshop:

  • Topic: Evaluating Online Sources
  • Date & Time: Wednesday, October 16, 12:00 to 12:50 p.m.
  • Location: LeRoy V. Good Library (Brighton Campus) - Room 423, or Join the Zoom Session

In addition to the workshop, students can schedule one-on-one research help sessions with a librarian for further guidance tailored to their specific needs, or they can drop by the LeRoy V. Good Library at the Brighton Campus or the Downtown Campus Learning Commons and ask to meet with the on-call librarian for quick, in-person support.

If you’d like a customized session for your class, we’re happy to bring this experience directly to you. Use our online form to request a customized instruction session. Consider encouraging your students to attend—whether for extra credit, as part of an assignment, or simply to build essential skills. We’re here to help them succeed!
