Ad Astra Scheduling Tool is moving to the Cloud

The Ad Astra scheduling tool used by the college to reserve space on campus is scheduled to be moved to the cloud on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 8:00 am. We anticipate the system being down for approximately four hours. The Astra Cloud offers a way to increase our scheduling capabilities without investment in additional infrastructure and personnel training. Cloud computing should also expand our IT's bandwidth in real time. Applications are setup in a multi-tenant environment as a part of their standard hosting offering.

We ask that you plan accordingly. If you have a need for space, please submit your requests by Wednesday, April 3 by the end of business day prior to the migration. If you need to reserve space for the Brighton Campus or ATC during the migration, please contact a representative from the Campus Events Office ext. 2010. If you need to reserve space at the Downtown Campus please contact Toni Custodio at ext. 6106.

The Ad Astra Migration Team Antonia Custodio (Project Leader), Lyndsey Presutti (Academics), Yolanda Johnson (Events), Tom Winslow (Events), Phil Oettinger (Academic Services), Andrew Eggleston (Learning Resources), Aaron Bouyea (Athletics), and Jeff Savage (Computing) have been testing for the last few months in preparation for the migration.
The next phase of the project will be upgrading to version 8.7 in the upcoming month. Stay tune!
