Join the Wellness Council for a Knife Skills Cooking Class!
Did you know?
- According to the USDA and HHS, over 50% of Americans have chronic diseases which are preventable through lifestyle modification, including diet
- Studies have shown that there are direct links between the consumption of home-prepared foods and improved nutrition and health
- Other studies link home food preparation with the reduction of chronic disease
Increase your confidence in home-cooking by learning to handle a chef knife like a pro! Join Chef Angela Douglas from the MCC Hospitality Management Department in this hands-on class that will teach you how to handle a chef knife with confidence. At the end of the class, we’ll transform our cut vegetables into a tasty treat, Sweet and Savory Bruschetta.
Come join us on Wednesday, November 13, from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. in the Hospitality Department kitchen in Building 3, Room 140-A. This event is free to all participants, thanks to the Wellness Council. This event is open to all MCC employees.
Register online for the Knife Skills Cooking Class. Be sure to scroll to the month of November and then select the time of 5:15 to sign up.
Email Andrea Wolff (awolff@monroecc.edu) for additional details or if you have any questions. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to sign up early!
For your safety in the kitchen, please wear covered-toed shoes with non-slip bottoms. Tennis shoes/sneakers are great. Feel free to bring your favorite apron from home!
