Anderson and Edelbach describe innovative organic laboratory approach
Chemistry professors Jason Anderson and Brian Edelbach were co-authors of a peer-reviewed article published in the Journal of Chemical Education, " Transforming the Organic Chemistry Lab Experience: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation of Reformed Experimental Activities - REActivities". The work describes their student-centered organic laboratory curricula, REActivities (Reformed Experimental Activities), and its implementation at RIT and MCC. In contrast to a traditional expository laboratory, REActivities infuse a guided inquiry approach while fostering student engagement (within and between lab groups). This NSF-funded project is part of an ongoing collaboration with faculty at RIT.
