United Way Campaign Kick-Off: March 6th and 8th!

The 2017 Monroe Community College United Way campaign begins Monday, March 6th!

As our community's college, MCC recognizes the role it plays in changing the lives of students in our region. In much the same way, the United Way of Greater Rochester works to change the lives of many of our relatives, neighbors and friends who live in our community.

In just the last year, the United Way’s Community Fund educated 800 new parents on how to be their babies best teacher, helped 4,700 students succeed with after school, summer (including our very own MCC Horizons Summer Program) and mentoring programs, provided 33,000 people in need with the basics of food, clothing and shelter, and gave 13,000 elders and their caregivers the resources they need to remain vital and independent.

Our campaign begins with a kick-off event: Monday March 6th, 12-12:50pm in the Flynn Campus Center Atrium, and Wednesday, March 8th, 12-12:50pm at DCC.  Please join us for food, “the annual change blitz,” and prizes!  Please help us get the MCC campaign kicked off by send your best fundraisers to compete in the annual change challenge on March 6th and 8th.  The person who raises the most change in a half-hour blitz will receive a United Way T-shirt!  All funds raised in the Change Blitz will go towards MCC’s donation to the United Way’s Community Fund. The Community Fund is the largest pool of financial gifts collected through the annual fundraising campaign and helps solve our community's most critical health and human service needs.

The 2017 MCC United Way Campaign runs from March 6th - April 14th, please join us for our special events:
