Opportunity to Attend Keynote - "Waking Up White"

The NYS Community College Business Officers Association (CCBOA) will be hosting their annual spring professional development conference in Rochester this June. The CCBOA membership consists of representatives of the 30 community colleges of the State University of New York. The CCBOA is dedicated to inter-institutional and inter-organizational cooperation, professional growth, and improved practices for its new and continuing members. To achieve these opportunities, CCBOA strives to build partnerships with businesses, education, and government agencies.

During these conferences, the CCBOA schedules keynote speakers and events. The hosting Community College(s) can offer employees limited seating at no cost. On Wednesday, June 12 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, there is limited seating available for 12 MCC employees to attend "Waking Up White" by Debby Irving, racial justice educator and writer. If you are interested in attending, please ensure your supervisor approves you to attend prior to contacting my office to schedule. The first 12 to request a seat will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact Eileen Scorgie at 292-2186 or escorgie@monroecc.edu to sign up to attend and receive further details.
